David Elton (trumpet) and Rachel Silver (horn and piano), both musicians with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, present a recital for the Lane Cove Music Club on March 15 2016, at 8pm.
This recital features works by George Enesco, Halsey Stevens, Kurt Weill, Johann Wilhelm Hertel, and Gershwin amongst others. The recital will also feature the world-premiere of Brendan Collins’ new work “Three for Two” composed for David and Rachel (on horn).
Venue: Lane Cove-Mowbray Anglican Church, 19 Rosenthal Avenue, Lane Cove – behind the Post Office and across the road from public car park (large, open-space, no charge). Other parking available behind Coles and underneath Woolworths (both these areas free after 6.00pm).
Tickets available at the door: $25 adults, no charge for school children.
David Sampson’s new work Memories To Keep Awhile for trumpet/flügelhorn, violin, violoncello and piano has it’s world premiere performance on August 7th, 2015 at the 2015 Australian Festival of Chamber Music in Townsville. Composer David Sampson will be attendance at the premiere performance with artists David Elton (trumpet/flügelhorn), Dimity Hall (violin), Julian Smiles (violincello), and David Selig (piano).
David Elton (trumpet) and Rachel Silver (piano and horn) perform a trumpet and piano recital in Sydney for the Killara Music Club.

Repertoire to include The Mysteries Remain by composer David Sampson (USA), as well as the Elegy by Thalben Ball. Oliver Brett (organ) will also perform works by Widor, Duruflé, and Rachmaninoff.

Håkan Hardenberger, the incomparable trumpet virtuoso joins the New Zealand Symphony in Brett Dean’s new trumpet concerto Dramatis Personae, composed in 2013. This incredible program also contains Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, and Janacek’s Sinfonietta (with 12 trumpets and 2 bass trumpets).
